Vix Smart Gates: Finalist for Ticketing Technology of the Year

Vix Technology has been named a finalist in the 2024 Transport Ticketing Awards for ‘Ticketing Technology of the Year’. 

This award recognises innovative ticketing technology and projects from around the world. Vix Smart Gates has been nominated following our successful partnership with Transport for Wales, where we achieved a significant milestone in the UK rail industry by launching a digital-first automatic ticket gate pilot program. This collaboration marked Transport for Wales as the first train operator outside London to introduce contactless EMV ticketing in heavy rail. 

Through close collaboration with Transport for Wales, we were able to deliver a seamless and reliable ticketing solution that met the needs of both passengers and operators. 

Looking ahead, we are busy refining features to improve passenger convenience and operational efficiency.  

As finalists, we’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase our achievements and innovations in the upcoming awards. We remain dedicated to working and collaborating with our partners to drive a positive change in the rail landscape.

The winners of the Transport Ticketing Awards will be announced on 5th March.
