Vix Customer City of Tshwane Named Runner Up for Best Smart Ticketing Programme at Transport Ticketing Awards

Vix is excited to share that our customer City of Tshwane – A Re Yeng has been named the runner up in the category of Best Smart Ticketing Programme at the Transport Ticketing Global Awards, amongst more than 50 entries.

City of Tshwane was nominated for its new EMV system that has integrated three separate municipal bus companies into the bus rapid transit (BRT) system. The change has significantly improved service across the city and builds on the system of bank-issued contactless payment cards already in place. 

Held at Landing Forty Two in London following the first day of Transport Ticketing Global 2019, the awards celebrate and recognise the organisations that have worked tirelessly to build, establish and deploy successful smart ticketing programmes across Europe and around the world. The category of Best Smart Ticketing Programme recognises a transport operator or local authority that has launched a successful smart ticketing programme in the last 12 months, taking into account the service user-adoption, duration, and sustainability.
