The Big Trends from TTG 2025: Security, Mobility, and Innovation

What an incredible two days at Transport Ticketing Global 2025! A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, joined the conversation, and explored the future of fare payments with us.

From panels to conversations on the exhibition floor, there was a lot of talk focused on where innovation will take mobility next. Some countered this question with the suggestion that technological innovation is not what’s needed – instead, the industry must look to drive adoption of the technologies that are already available.

While public transport operators and authorities remained focused on the best route to seamless multimodal travel, flexible fare payments, and enhancing passenger experiences – on the Vix Kuba stand, we demonstrated how our existing technology can play a key role in achieving these goals.

Key Themes from TTG 2025

  1. Mobility Without Barriers

Public transport is becoming more seamless and connected, giving passengers greater choice in how they pay and travel. Whether tapping a bank card, mobile wallet, or smart ticket, or moving effortlessly between buses, trains, and shared mobility, operators are focused on breaking down barriers to travel.

With fare capping, multimodal ticketing, and open-loop payments high on the agenda, transport authorities are designing systems that ensure cost-effective, accessible, and frictionless journeys for everyone.

  1. Security & Resilience in Transit Systems

With growing threats in public transport – journey-related fraud, cyberattacks, and revenue protection challenges – security was a major talking point this year. Agencies are looking to fortify their fare collection and ticketing systems against evolving risks.

At our own fireside chat, Vix and Kuba CEO Aaron Ross and CISO Tom Buerbaum led a powerful discussion on Building Resilient Transit and Ticketing Systems in a Risk-Filled World. Their key message? Security can’t be an afterthought. It must be built into the foundations of every transit system.

With our Security-as-a-Service offering, we’re helping operators and authorities stay ahead of threats, protect revenue, and ensure safe, stable mobility networks for the future.

  1. Public Transport as an Enabler of Opportunity

A key message from this year’s Innovation Panel was that public transport is more than just a way to get from A to B, it’s an enabler of social mobility.

By making transit more accessible, reliable, and affordable, we can create new pathways to jobs, education, and essential services. MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) and flexible fare models are helping to break down barriers, ensuring that transport isn’t a limitation, but an opportunity.

4. A Global Perspective on Mobility

During the keynote session, Vix CEO Aaron Ross and Littlepay CEO Amin Shayan shared unique insights from working with customers and cities all over the world. Their perspective?

While the movement towards digitization and open payments continues, macroeconomic trends are exerting a strong influence on the investment and roll-out of new technologies. Add into the mix regional differences in policy, infrastructure, and regulation, and it’s clear there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Understanding these nuances is critical to designing transport systems that work for local communities.

Final Thoughts

And just like that, TTG 2025 is a wrap! From big conversations on security and mobility to plenty of action at our stand, it’s been an incredible two days connecting with industry leaders, partners, and fellow transport innovators.

Thanks for getting the juice on Vix and Kuba!

See you next year at TTG 2026!
