Three Vix Customers Selected for Transport Ticketing Global Awards

Three Vix customers have been selected to the shortlist for the Transport Ticketing Global Awards, to be announced at Transport Ticketing Global 2019 in London.

Nominated in the category of Most Innovative Customer Serving Operator, the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has improved rider experience with a new account-based fare collection system featuring an integrated retail network. DART riders that need to pay fares with cash can visit a local retailer such as 7-11 and Safeway to load value onto a GoPass Tap card with cash, and thus supporting under-banked and unbanked demographics.

Bangkok Mass Transit Systems (BTS) is shortlisted in two categories: Best Smart Ticketing Programme for the Rabbit LINE Pay scheme and Most Innovative Customer Serving Operator for its work as a transit operator. BTS created a way for passengers to use LinePay e-wallet to pay for public transit, utilising an innovative real-time account-based ticketing solution linking existing transit cards and other media to a single payment account.

Also in the category of Best Smart Ticketing Programme is City of Tshwane – A Re Yeng. A new EMV system has integrated three separate municipal bus companies into the bus rapid transit (BRT) system, significantly improving service across the city and building on the system of bank-issued contactless payment cards.

The awards ceremony will be held on 29 January at Landing Forty Two, beginning at 19.00.
